I've been a part of the wedding industry since I was 18 - just coming up to a decade! Being a part of this fabulous, vibrant - if a little chaotic at times - life from my late teens into early adulthood has really shaped who I am; and made weddings a little synonymous with who I've become. (My friends and family will testify to that - they're always on my mind!) 

Now, in my mid-twenties and currently engaged myself, the passion I've always felt towards the wedding industry is burning even stronger (and some might say it's an obsession; but I think that's a good thing!).

I've been a part of the team at the Secret Garden for nearly five years - the venue and I have watched each other grow tremendously in that time. We've gone through a global pandemic together, grown from a small tea room who occasionally hosted a few weddings to one of Kent's busiest venues, watched plenty of trends come and go, and made a few mistakes together.

Whilst trends may not stick around (there will probably be a day when I look at disco balls and the era of the evening mini and go 'wow that is sooo 2020's'), weddings themselves are not going anywhere - despite the cost of living crisis.

SO, my aim for this blog is to share the mistakes I've personally made, or seen along the way, give the best advice from inside a popular venue to brides-to-be, and hopefully save you some money and some post-wedding regrets.
